WooCommerce seems to be royally screwing up in the backend. It is causing insane amounts of requests, which makes my host lock up & gives me 500 errors. It’s also fighting with who KNOWS what & giving me “update failed” notices on posts.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Hi there @katehackett ??

WooCommerce seems to be royally screwing up in the backend. It is causing insane amounts of requests, which makes my host lock up & gives me 500 errors. It’s also fighting with who KNOWS what & giving me “update failed” notices on posts.

Thank you for reaching back with the additional info. What you are describing is certainly odd, and I understand how frustrating it can be. Let’s go ahead with clarifying (odd) things, then.

Starting from the System Status Report:

WC Version: 6.9.4
WooCommerce: by Automattic – 6.9.4 (update to version 7.0.1 is available)

1. Kindly go ahead with updating WooCommerce to the latest version (7.0.1).

WC Database Version: 7.0.1

2. Somehow, the WooCommerce database is already updated to the latest version. Gut feeling, an update and downgrade already took place. Correct? Let us know why, please.

WP Memory Limit: 500 MB

3. 512 MB is a better number than 500 MB -computer-wise. Feel free to get in touch with your host, with a request to adjust this at 512 MB or 768 MB.

Moving on, I went ahead with checking the site at https://www.katehackett.com/.
While browsing around, I could not find console errors. I was able to add products to cart. The checkout page functioned well, also.

Furthemore, checking out the site’s source code, I could verify that the code loaded by WooCommerce is as expected, throughout a page’s code.

Wrapping-up, I would suggest temporarily deactivating the following plugins and see how things go:
– Wordfence Security: by Wordfence – 7.7.1
– WordPress Rocket: by WP Media – 3.12.2.1

The second, since there is already the following registered also:

The front end is fine, it’s the back end that’s been causing serious issues generating COPIOUS amounts of requests to my server.

The cache plugin you mentioned is not a plugin I have, not sure why it’s there! Or how to get rid of it.

I’ll let you know how it goes. This is a tough one because it’s hard to reliably reproduce.

I was able to access your site as you can see below. Also, since you have Jetpack connected, I was able to run some tests and none showed an error whatsoever.
