    Thanks for sharing the tax settings. It seems you are not using the WooCommerce Shipping & Tax extension.

    So that we can take a closer look please share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. ?

    The best way to determine this is to:

    1. Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    2. Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    3. Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

    To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each until you find the one causing conflict.

    hello,

    I temporarily switched my theme to storefront and the tax did not show, I also disabled all the plugins except for woocommerce and the problem still persists. Is there another way to troubleshoot?

    Hi Carina,

    I checked your site, and the tax function isn’t taxing any purchase at the checkout or in the cart.

    Could you please share a screenshot of your Standard Rates settings to look at your tax rate settings and check further?

    I see you’re calculating taxes based on the customer shipping address but there are no shipping zones associated.

    Can you make sure you set up shipping zones correctly? Here’s a support doc on how to set up shipping in WooCommerce:

    I noticed that the marked (see below screenshot) fields are enabled in your case. However, this shouldn’t be the case. The fields should be disabled when you enable automatic tax calculation:

    Hi – I am having similar issues. I operate out of NY State but ship within the US. Tax was working properly until today when an order was received from California.

    The only change is that my site was updated to the new version of WordPress and now Tax is being added for both NY and CA addresses (doesn’t seem to be for other states). Is this a new thing? I am really frustrated as I have gone through all of the shipping and tax settings and it looks like I have it set up properly, so wondering if collecting Sales Tax is a new thing for CA??

    I did see lines for CA in my Sales Tax with different rates (I had originally set up NY State to be with just one tax rate of 8%) so I removed those, but when I tested it again the tax rate for CA showed up again!

    Thanks for any help you can give as I’ve spent the last hour scouring the forum trying to resolve this.
