woocommerce Attributes base price doesn't show when adding extra price options

  • I have latest version of WP and woocommerce installed with their Out let theme.

    I have read all the documentation for Attributes but can’t get it working properly

    i have a product which is a photographic print for $485.00
    I created my attribute called ‘framing’ and then added 3 variations of picture frames – size A, size B, size C. Each frame is $150.00

    I created a simple product, enter price $485.00, save
    then changed to variable product and added the framing attribute, add the 3 variations

    then go to variations tab and add default value
    then add a frame – size A. use the dropdown to increase regular price and enter $150.00
    do this for other 2 variables

    but on the product page the base price of $485.00 is not showing but the price inc the frame, $625.00 – I need the price to be the base price and only change when clicking a frame form the drop down menu

    How do I do this?
