I can’t fully activate WooCommerce with Olsen Light because WC’s content wrapper does not match the theme (according to them).

The instructions from WC’s documentation tell me to instead use their catch-all woocommerce_content() function inside the theme by duplicating Olsen Light’s theme page.php. There is a series of instructions after this, but I am hung up on actually duplicating the page.php file. I cannot find a source for duplicating, so cannot fully activate WC.

    Thanks,
    Miranda

  • Hi there Miranda,
you can use FTP or your cPanel’s file editor to duplicate your page.php, or create a new file by copying page.php contents inside.

Then try installing the Synchi plugin to enhance the default editor and then navigate to the /themes/olsen-light/ folder to find the new file and edit it.

    I hope this helps

I followed all of the steps with a few necessary tweaks. However, the “shop” now won’t come up at all and sends an error message about the file WC gave to input. I feel like it may be the lack of compatibility, so I’m wondering if there are any shop plugin suggestions to use as an alternate route to create a shop without having to change my OL theme at all. What a PITA.

Hmmm.. I went back in to see what line 24 was on the error message. I deleted it.. you know, just for fun.
    Now it works.
    At least for now.
But the glass is half full, so I’ll consider this resolved.

    THANK YOU for your help,
    Miranda

    Glad you worked this out!
    And you are Welcome!
