I just imported about 80 orders into a WooCommerce install.

The order dates are all correct and WooCommerce > Reports shows the charts/graphs correctly but when you go to Dashboard > Analytics, it shows all of the sales to date as all happening today.

Why is Analytics getting the import date rather than the order date but the old “Reports” tool is showing it correctly by sticking to the order date?

  • Hello @one3rdnerd,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Please try the following steps and see if this helps fix the problem:

    • Navigate to Analytics → Settings, scroll down to Date type, and select Date Created on the dropdown – then save the settings.
    • Navigate to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and click on Clear Analytics Cache.
    • Then?Import Historical Data.

Let us know how it goes.

Okay, yes, I think the first step did the trick.

Shouldn’t “Date Created” just be the default though?

The reporting charts seem to skip some months, like jumping from October to January and not showing any data for the months between. Even if these months were 0, they should still show on the chart, otherwise it’s confusing to use for any serious reporting.

For now, I’m probably going to just use the old reporting as it’s much better, hopefully that isn’t removed for a while, at least while analytics isn’t all that great.

Also, when the little green or red squares show in the analytics, the text is black, so there’s not enough contrast and it’s hard to read the %. This would be better if the text was white.

When I ran the import historical data, it gives me strange results like

Imported Registered Customers 50 of 31

How can 50 of 31 be imported? That doesn’t make any sense.

    Thanks

    Hi @one3rdnerd,

I think the first step did the trick.

    Glad to hear it.

There are 3 options for one to choose from – Date created, Date Paid and Date completed, this is because of the different user needs.

The current design is intended to provide a streamlined view of your active months only, but we appreciate your feedback.

I understand your preference for the old reporting system, while we constantly try to improve on the reporting I’m uncertain if this will change in the near future.

This would be better if the text was white.

We appreciate your feedback and your input is valuable to us.?

Does repeating the process to import historical data yield similar results?

I understand, but my point is that “Date created” should be the most common of the three and thus the default.

I’m unsure and not really wanting to complicate matters by attempting it again.

    Thanks

    Hello again @one3rdnerd,

I understand, but my point is that “Date created” should be the most common of the three and thus the default.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the “Date Created” field and your suggestion to have it as the default due to its common usage.

However, the current default settings are designed to cater to the majority of WooCommerce users’ needs.

In the meantime, I’ll now mark this thread as solved. Should you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reach out, we’re here to help.

    All the best.
