    Hi lovely folk,

I am in the process of overhauling my site, including adding in a shop. All is going well but I’m not quite ready for the shop to be live. I just wondered if there is a way to do all the set up (including associated plug-ins etc) but keep the shop private? At the moment it’s showing on my site but is not active.

    Any advice welcome please?

    Many thanks.
    All the best,
    Nichola

  • Hey
By the way you can set password protection to your shop page.

    Hi Naveen,

Ok great, thanks for that – good to know. But I presume that is once my shop is ‘online’. Can I make it invisible while I’m setting it up?

    Thanks.

Yeah Just make it public and it will be public again.

On the page editor screen, you will see the Visibility option under the publish meta box. Click on the Edit link next to visibility, there you find options to make a page private and public.

    Hi Naveen,

Thanks so much for all this – very useful. Of course I realise I wasn’t thinking of those things as ‘pages’ but now I see that they are, your suggestions make sense. I also realised then that, as they are pages, I could remove them from the Menu and they would no longer be visible. Then when I’m ready I can just add them back onto the Menu.

Great! Problem solved (for now). Thanks again.

    All the best,
    Nichola
