Hi, I’m having trouble using this plugin to search ACF fields attached to WooCommerce products in the backend.

It will search the front end and return results for for the given product but will come up empty when searching the admin for the same product.

I’ve disabled all plugins except WooCommerce, ACFs and ACF: Better Search and I’ve changed themes to the default WP2020 theme. All plugins are the latest versions. Still not returning results in the admin.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, so I decided to install WooCommerce, ACF Pro and ACF: Better Search on a new install of WordPress in attempt to narrow down any possible conflicts in the actual project I’m looking to have results returned.

It turns out that this plugin does not search ACF fields attached to a WooCommerce product. Is that correct?

If so, are there are plans to extend this plugin to search custom fields attached to WooCommerce products?

    Kindly-
    Josh

    Hi @joshwhite,

Thank you for your message. I will try to help you.

Can you throw this clean installation on any environment and give me access to it? For example, by sending the export file from the All-in-One WP Migration plugin.

    Hi @mateuszgbiorczyk

Thank you for your response. I have to go for the day but I will get a clean installation together on a staging environment and provide you with access to have a look.

I hope to be able to do this over the weekend. Is there a better way to provide you with the credentials once it’s setup for you?

    Hi @rumik69
Still have not heard back from @mateuszgbiorczyk but once I do, I will update this support topic.

I apologize for the waiting time, but I wanted to check it more carefully. Woocommerce and Post Type product works differently than standard CPT.

Woocommerce prepares and downloads posts by itself, but for standard WP_Query it already transmits the post ID found.

The classic filters posts_join, posts_search and posts_request are not used.

At the moment, this means that the plug-in will not allow compatibility with Woocommerce. I will work on it in the future, but it is not a simple process. At the moment I am not sure if it will be possible.

Thank you very much for looking into it, it’s very much appreciated.

I’ve been using this plugin for many years now and I’m pretty sure it worked with older versions of WP and WooCommerce… I could be wrong but I thought it did work about 6 months ago.

I will look for other options. Thanks again.

I checked it on a very old version of Woocommerce and it also doesn’t work. I will keep this in mind for future updates. Thank you for your help!

I encourage you to use the plugin in other projects!
