This just started today. My website, the front end, is running fine, but woocommerce the backend admin controls is so slow it is basically unusable. Pages are taking minutes to load, I have to refresh multiple times, everything is at a crawl.

So is there anything I can do? Something I can check? Something I can implement, to fix this issue? I have orders to get out and It’s so slow that I can barely work at all.

Thanks in advance really need help on this and fast.

Phew! Thanks to an amazing Indian woman from freelancer.com the problem is fixed. She said it was a database issue. She fixed in 10 minutes what my hosting company has been trying to figure out for 2 days haha.

Can you elaborate on what she claimed was the “database issue” that slowed your site so much? Unless something was setup wrong to begin with, usually I’ve not seen quick fixes for obscenely slow admins. For example, the gist below is what I had to use to speed up the site because comments and order counts loading on every page load were taking 6+ seconds on multiple queries.

    https://gist.github.com/pmgarman/d64c768754dbc0ff5f49

With this code I went from ~10-20s load times depending on the page to typically under 1s load times on a database that is somewhere between 35-50GB depending on the size of the sessions table (yes, the sessions table has reached over 15GB in size).

I didn’t ask for too much detail because i was so excited that it worked but what she said was there were problems in the WP total cache. She had to deactivate it, reactivate it, and and change settings. The specifics for what the problems in the total cache were and what she changed in the settings i don’t know.

Interesting plugin you have there. So if I were to install that it would speed up my admin page load times even more? Because even though everything is working fine again and loading like normal, I’d still like it to be a little faster and was going to look for any plugins out there that speed up the admin side of the site.

I was experiencing this slow admin issue running WP 4.4.1, Woocommerce 2.5.1 and found the culprit to be my Stamps.com plug-in. Disabling the Stamps.com plug-in fixed the speed issue. Just today a new update was released from plug-in author for Stamps.com that fixed the plug-in so I can reactivate it without slow down.

I ran into the same problem today, Frontend is fine but WP backend was slow as heck.

This is WP 4.4.2 with customized Enfold theme, running WooCommerce 2.5.5.
I disabled all plugins, reactivating them one after another and, wouldn’t you know it… WooThemesHelper 1.6.1 was the issue. Disabled it and the backend runs like a charm again.

    Hi,

PLEASE PLEASE Help!!!! We have a Magazine Site with 600.000 Unique Clients and nearly 2.000.000 visits a month. We decided to give customers the chance to read special Content for a little amount… So we got the WooCommerce Memberships, WooCommerce One Page Checkout, WooCommerce PDF Invoices & WooCommerce Subscriptions Addons.

On our staging/dev Site – everything was working fine.

Now on our live Site – you can imagine what is happening. In 2 Weeks our options table was bloated up to 1.200.000 Rows.
Every few hours nearly 10.000 more. We can′t deactivate it, because over 400 Customers are already registered. Cron job does not matter, because of the countless DB Queries. The Backend gets so slow, that our Authors can′t work as they would like to. BTW – WooCommerce destroys our Content Marketing Tool – CoSchedule Plugin.

It is no solution to delete expired transients every few hours. We know why they exist. But we only have a subscription plan – no webshop with “real” Products. We dont need timeout_geoip, external_ip_address, geoip etc. 300 queries per second… It is too much.
Of course we deactivated everything we could in the backend.

We are already on a dedicated server with ssd and enough resources…

So, how can we get rid of this massive problem!?!?

    Please Help!!!
    MC

Just a quick thanks to Patrick for his github plugin. Solved big delays we were seeing on two Woo sites. Great work, sir!

I doubled my performance by disabling the Yoast Premium SEO plugin, now looking into disabling MaxGeoIP on that page

I was experiencing slow checkout times while the credit card was processing, up to 20 seconds. I disabled Geolocate in WooCommerce settings and this improved, but not as much as I would like. PayPal was faster, but I prefer Stripe. My server is amazingly fast https://agentplug.com the only slow issue is checkout. I use Yoast as well, I will disable all plugins and try again. If we did want an expert opinion, who would you recommend?
