    it started with

    Failed to generate Critical CSS

    An unexpected error has occurred. As this error may be temporary, please try and refresh the Critical CSS.

    then it goes to a 503 and site goes down for a few mins and runs slow. My server support looked and server is fine etc

    I was about to upgrade thank god I haven’t in case I can’t use this plugin

    The logs indicate successful CSS generation, suggesting the issue may be temporary. Let’s focus on addressing your immediate concerns:

    1. Temporarily disable all other plugins except Jetpack and Jetpack Boost, then try regenerating the Critical CSS. This step will help determine if there’s a plugin conflict.
    2. Ensure that server resources are not being exhausted during the CSS generation process. Even though your server support has indicated that server health is fine, it would be good to check the server error logs for any relevant errors during the time the Critical CSS fails. Since you mentioned you were interested in the paid version of Boost, it’s worth mentioning that we’ve made improvements in the upgraded version of Jetpack Boost, where Critical CSS is generated on our servers, reducing the load on your site. This ensures that your server isn’t overwhelmed, maintaining site performance and availability.
