I have been following the thread relating to the New Attribute Failed error ever since it started after the upgrade of Woocommerce 7.8.? cannot remember now which one. Have upgraded to 7.9.0 and still getting this error when trying to add any sort of product etc. But the worst thing is in the last two weeks we are now getting 503 errors and they are getting worse. Not just in the product but regarding anything we are trying to do. Takes forever to update a page and then crashing out. What would take 1-2 mins to do is now taking at least half hour due to constant 503 errors. Our host cannot find any reason for the 503 errors. The memory limit is already set at 512 and Opcache was already installed. PLEASE we need these 503 errors to stop now. Becoming very very difficult to maintain the site and use it. Otherwise I will need to try and do a rollback to when this all started.

  • Hi @gsqwebcoorindator ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

This was a known bug in WooCommerce 7.8. and a fix was released in 7.9.0. You can view this in the changelog below:

However, it seems that the issue is still present on your end with the latest version of WooCommerce, yes?

But the worst thing is in the last two weeks we are now getting 503 errors and they are getting worse. Not just in the product but regarding anything we are trying to do

    This sounds frustrating!

Please can you share a clear screenshot of the error message as you see it, and provide some examples of what steps you take that lead to the 503 error?

If you do not already have a screenshot tool installed,?Snipboard.io?can be used for easily sharing screenshots. Please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread.

Additionally, can you please share a copy of the following so that we can take a closer look at your sites current environment:

    • System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs.

Once you have this, please share the results in your response here.

    Cheers!

We are also having these issues since updating to 7.9 – 503 errors and the attribute error.

    Hi @richardmcg ,

It seems you are experiencing a similar issue to the one mentioned above.

Since each site setup differs, and in order to align with forum best practices, please can you start your own topic so that we can address your issue(s) separately.

    Thanks!

sorry for delay, have had replies back from WooCommerce as well which is good. I finally had to do a rollback to 7.7.2 and since then no more 503 or Failed attribute errors.

What was happening was: go to click on just to process any orders, so just clicking on orders in the menu bar, and it would go round and round and round until finally it crashed with a 503 error. Last week it took me 4 hours to process 17 orders – something that normally takes 5/10 mins at the most. Plus the whole site became bogged down and so so slow.

All I can suggest is that you rollback to 7.7.2 if you are having these errors and wait for WooCommerce to really fix the situation. They have informed many that with a fresh install of 7.9 they cannot create the situation. I can understand that as being similar to when you first install a new operating system. All is fine, but if you do an upgrade often bugs appear that need to be fixed.

Thanks to everyone who has offered advise and assistance with this problem, but for now I will stay on V7.7.2

    Regards

We have rolled back this morning as it was effecting sales \ tracking – 7.72 seems to be stable. This could be a theme issue (its bespoke build) but if someone can poinpoint the issue and what might be causing it we could update our themes.
