As a first step, to get a better understanding of the issue, could you share a screenshot of what happens when you hit the recalculate button and as well as a copy of your site’s System Status?

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

For screenshots we recommend using https://snipboard.io – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread. Make sure to redact/black out with the pencil tool any sensitive data (i.e. billing and shipping details) from it.

Can you also let us know if it works with a default theme like Storefront and all other plugins (except WooCommerce) disabled?

Sorry for the late follow up.

When I try to add an item into an order that is on hold, this issue arises.

1) Initial order details: Test Order

2) Adding 5 shirts to that order: Adding 5 medium shirts

3) Image before recalculation: Before

4) Image after recalculation: After

As you can see, the shipping charge doesn’t increase, most likely because the weight isn’t increasing.

Thank you for the screenshots. I understand that the weight field doesn’t get updated when you add more items manually.

Core WooCommerce doesn’t have a weight field in the order edit. This is how an order looks like with only WooCommerce enabled: https://snipboard.io/cbYolZ.jpg

So your issue is likely linked to another plugin – possibly “WooCommerce Weight Based Shipping: by weightbasedshipping.com.” You can confirm this by deactivating plugins one by one.

Once identified, you’ll want to reach out to the plugin developer and report the issue.

That is correct. By default, WooCommerce does not automatically calculate shipping costs for manual orders. Here’s an active feature request above the same: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/23898

This may be possible via custom coding. That said, this is a fairly complex development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.
