    Hello.

I want my website to be in Latvian, but none of the translation plugins or string translators translate all of the woocommerce blocks and elements.

For example the biggest issue I have is the mini Cart. It has strings and button names that don’t translate at all. And no matter what I do I can’t change that. Even used a plugin to search for the specific stirngs in fileserver and changed in documents, but still it doesn’t change.

Has anyone translated these elements and can help me?

  • If you are having trouble translating certain strings in WooCommerce, it’s possible that the strings are hardcoded in the plugin or theme files. In this case, you will need to modify the plugin or theme files directly to translate the strings.

One way to do this is to use a plugin like “Say What?” which allows you to override specific strings in WooCommerce and other plugins and themes.

Here’s how you can use the plugin to translate the strings in the mini cart:

    1. Install and activate the “Say What?” plugin.
    2. Go to the WordPress dashboard and navigate to “Tools > Text Changes”.
    3. Click the “Add New” button to add a new text change.
    4. In the “Original Text” field, enter the original string that you want to translate. For example, “View cart” for the mini cart button.
    5. In the “Text Domain” field, enter “woocommerce”.
    6. In the “Translation” field, enter the translated string. For example, “Skatīt grozu” for the mini cart button in Latvian.
    7. Click the “Add Text Change” button to save your changes.

This should translate the strings in the mini cart. You can use the same process to translate other strings in WooCommerce and other plugins and themes.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi @valainis

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that there are some text strings on your site that are not translated into Latvian.

Kindly be informed that WooCommerce is only 56% translated to Latvian, hence, there will be some text strings that need to be translated using a third-party plugin..

In addition to what @alexutz6 suggested, you could also check the Loco Translate plugin as well. Here’s their support documentation for your reference: https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin#guides

    Hope this helps!
