woocomerce creating duplicate orders sometime

Is this happening after a recent update? Does this happens randomly or with a specific product?

I have the same problem recently, I realized because I have a system of sellers, they were demanding payments from me for more orders and when I noticed they had duplicate orders, I realized because of the same product ID and I also have a sales counter for each product and When a product is sold it counts as two sales instead of one but in the WooCommerce administrator part it only shows me one order. I imagine that in the database in WooCommerce metadata it creates duplicate orders for each order.

Hi shared the screenshot of the duplicate order below. its not happening for every order. happens sometime. like in 50 orders there will be 2 orders which will have duplicate orders with same details . on same time.

There is no similarities in these duplicate order.

and yeah the products are different. the above screenshots product is mini shaver. and when i checked other orders which are duplicate the product was tummy trimmer.

Hi, it’s not a normal store. I already mentioned that we are a dropshipping fulfillment website. The plugin ‘Sadadropship’ provides dropshippers with a few extra functionalities. For example, the dropshipper registers on our website and orders the product for their customer by mentioning the selling price of the product. Then, our system deducts the product price and delivery charges from the order. When the order is delivered, the customer sees the profit in their dashboard.

We added a few features in the checkout, like selling price for dropshippers, so they can mention their COD price. This way, we can collect that amount from the customer, and the remaining profit will show in the dropshipper’s dashboard when the order delivers

I understand that the plugin intervenes in the WooCommerce order process when making an order in the store, correct?

If so, I think it could be the culprit of the issue. To probe this, kindly create a staging site (a replica of your site to perform tests) using the WP Staging plugin, change your theme to a default one like Storefront or TwentyTwentyFour , deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, and try a handful of test purchases to see if the issue persists.

If that solves it, reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, reactivate your other plugins, testing after each (you could start with the dropshipping plugin) until you find the one causing conflict.

I running into same issue since a day ago. The only change I remember doing is upgrading from PHP 7.3 to 8.2

This only happens to me to a certain subset of users and only for a product that is priced at $0.

Looking at my logs, I have fatals in this plugin ‘DivisionByZeroError: Division by zero in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-multilevel-commision/classes/woocommerce-order.php:359’

Update: Switching back to PHP 7.3 seems to have solved the issue in my case.
