    Hello,

I’ve been reading the documentation, but can’t get y head around the pro-rata subscription length option when upgrading/downgrading.

I have a annual subscription product that is synchronised to renew on the 1st January. For the first year there is a pro-rata payment to align the dates for all subscribers (Using ‘Synchronise renewals’).

The subscription product is set up as a variable subscription, with bronze silver and gold subscription (different prices). These are linked to equivalent memberships using the Woo Membership plugin.

The membership gives different levels of discounts on physical stock in a clothing store.

I have enabled the option to allow customers to upgrade/downgrade their subscription/membership. I have enabled the option to prorate the recurring payment (I think this is the correct approach, but happy to review).

My question is whether I should also prorate the subscription length when switching subscriptions, or would the earlier synchronisation cover that?

    Thanks

  • Hi @metalfurydesign,

From what I understand, you’re trying to figure out the pro-rata subscription length option when upgrading or downgrading. You have an annual subscription product that renews on the 1st of January and you’re using the ‘Synchronize Renewals’ feature for the first year pro-rata payment. You’re also allowing your customers to upgrade/downgrade their subscription/membership and have enabled the option to prorate the recurring payment. Your query is whether you should also prorate the subscription length when switching subscriptions, or if the earlier synchronization would cover that.

Woo Subscriptions is a premium extension, and as such, it would be best if you could reach out to us directly, provided you have a valid license for this extension. To do this, kindly head over to  ?? WooCommerce.com → My Account → Support. Please remember, that you might need to log into the account you used to purchase the extension to access this page.

    Understood, thanks for the reply.

I’m evaluating the plugin at the moment on https://testwoo.com/ prior to purchase.

If it’s not possible to explain the prorata length option here, I’ll ask the question on the product support page – if I decide to use it over the other plugins I’m evaluating.
