Woo-Commerce Shipping Zone Not Working at least not how I want it to. I need ( and did) set up a Shipping Zone/Class for free shipping. What is happening is that all products on our website now have the option of Free Shipping as opposed to me wanting only one item to have free shipping. Every item in woo commerce has the Shipping Method to Default but having this free shipping class allows customers to select free shipping regardless of the item not having the shipping method free shipping.

Maybe I am not explaining it too well – but the idea being, I only want free shipping for one item but woo commerce is applying the free shipping option to all items

  • Hello,

I understand all the items are now displaying the free shipping.

To set up shipping zones, be sure you are following these setup instructions:
    https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-shipping-zones/

You can share with us a screenshot of your shipping zones, shipping methods, and shipping classes, feel free to use https://snipboard.io to share them – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread.

That way we will be able to take a better idea, thanks.

Thank you Igor for your reply
I have since, of course, taken off the Free Shipping Zone I created because I cannot have free shipping on our company website right now- except for the item I want to have free shipping for when this is figured out

When I created the Zone – I did follow the instructions for making the cost for free shipping: $0 etc – everything the tutorial said to do – it was very surprising to me to see the Free Shipping option on all products on our site
    Thanks

    Hello @robinsonjames,

I only want free shipping for one item but woo commerce is applying the free shipping option to all items

If you want to assign free shipping to a single product please follow the instructions on this tutorial:

    https://www.businessbloomer.com/assign-free-shipping-single-woocommerce-product/

I hope this is helpful to you.

    All the best.

    Thanks Mirko
That’s what I had tried before – it does not work
I can create that Zone – and without selecting Free Shipping in the Shipping Method in the product, it has free shipping – without doing anything and going to the website – all items are free shipping regardless of choosing Free Shipping or Default or anything

All the items on our website have the Default shipping method selected which should and does give the UPS cost unless I create the Free Shipping Zone then all items have free shipping no matter what Method is selected

    Hi there,

I understand that you can’t set up free shipping on your live site as it will appear for all products. What you can do then is create a staging site so you can add the free shipping method and perform tests without affecting your customers.

You can check with your host if your plan has staging site facilities or use a plugin like WP Staging to duplicate your site.

Once you’re testing on your staging environment, please follow the tutorial I shared above to assign free shipping to a single product. At the same time, you’d want to disable all plugins (except WooCommerce) and change the theme to Storefront.

Let us know if it works at this point.
