Woo-commerce Elegant Themes (divi) Sidebar?

  • Hello I’ve been very agitated for days and nights about this current problem I am having. I’ve searched high and low for answers on the web. I’m a beginner to coding and only know the very basics. I’m trying to create a E-commerce site.
    I am using Divi theme from Elegant Themes with Woo-commerce.
    I want to be able to create a sidebar for every product category page on my site. The only problem is my theme does not have a default sidebar so Woo-sidebars doesn’t work in my case. How can I create or allow a sidebar on all of my product category pages. Here is what one of my current problem Pages looks like.

  • I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not have access to, nor do we support, commercial products here.

    I just battled with this yesterday myself and found the solution (if you’re still looking to fix this). To begin with, you MUST ensure that in the Divi Theme Options ePanel, you have gone to the General tab, scrolled down to Shop Page & Category Page Layout for Woocommerce and make certain that you have either Right Sidebar or Left Sidebar selected. Fullwidth is the default setting and this will prevent your new Woosidebar from showing.

    Ok, so to start with I had created months ago a site-wide sidebar by going to Appearance > Widgets and I named that one Sidebar. Now, when I installed WooSidebars, I gained that Widgets Area option in Appearance and this is where I set up my sidebar for my shop category pages. I assume you’ve done this, this is where you’ll choose to replace your original sidebar (in my case that generic site-wide one called Sidebar). You’ll also need to make sure you set up the conditions for your new store sidebar by selecting your shop page in the Pages tab, then opening the Advanced option and heading to the Woocommerce tab and checking Product Categories and if needed, you check which taxonomies to use in the Taxonomy tab.

    Once you’ve done that, you’ll go back to Widgets and you’ll see your new store sidebar waiting for you to add widgets to it. I personally added a bunch of nav filters. Once you have that guy all set up, head over to Pages and select your shop page. If you’re using the page builder (like i did) you just need to have a sidebar module and in its settings choose your new store sidebar. Update everything and test out your shop. Hopefully this works, send me a reply if it doesn’t and i’ll try to help ??

    @dannywithawhy did you encounter a problem that Divi does not display the Woo filters?

    For some reason Price Filter and Layered Nav Filter are not loaded in my case (I cannot even see them in view source) and other widget that I place in the same sidebar before and after are ok…
