woo commerce destroyed my site

You mean there are 2 folders inside your plugin folder named woocommerce? If yes, then you must remove one of them. This will always crash you site.

yes it was, it was downloaded from the plugins section of WordPress

/var/www/wp-content/mu-plugins/gd-system-plugin/ is a plugin preinstalled by GoDaddy. You did not install this.

Dropping a database table means to empty all it’s content while keeping the table structure. It leaves you with an empty table afterwards so you can refill it.

Also I can see your site is up again. Congratulations, happy to see you are up and online again. How did you fix it?

Dropping a table removes the table. Emptying a table is a “truncate” operation.

DROP = removes a table and its data permanently from the database.
