Woo Commerce customer sub-role based on item purchased
-
When someone purchases one of our virtual products (via Woo Commerce), they are emailed a link to the page where the audio recording lives. I have successfully created an exception using Press Permit so that those pages are hidden from anonymous users, and only logged in users (customers) can see those pages. I would now like to restrict access to those pages even further. I would like to create a sub-role within the “WP Customer” role… however I don’t want to have to do this manually every time someone purchases. I would like the sub-role to be created automatically based on the item/s that the customer purchases. For example if someone purchases Audio Recording X, they would be granted access to view the specific page where that audio recording lives. But if they somehow got a-hold of the URL of another audio recording, they would not be able to view it because they didn’t purchase that item. Is this possible using tags or some other work around? I haven’t been able to figure it out.
Thank you!
Susan
