• I have tried several times to completely remove this plugin. It always reinstalls itself.

I have read blogs, and followed instructions, and worked step by step to purge and delete and make ready for uninstalling the plugin… and the plugin reinstalls itself.

I’m pretty sure that when I click uninstall it should just go away.
    But it doesn’t.

So I don’t really care how effective it is at caching (although, to be frank, it clashes with other plugins I’m using and stops them from running)… it doesn’t follow instructions, and so it’s A) a disappointment, but more importantly B) a giant headache and time-stealer.

    Sad.

I can understand how that would be frustrating.

It sounds to me like your hosting provider is running a mass installation program, and if that’s the case, there should be a mechanism for you to opt out.

If your hosting provider is using the LiteSpeed cPanel tool, you can do this:

In cPanel, choose the LiteSpeed Web Cache Manager, select LiteSpeed Cache Management > WordPress Cache and “flag” your site. This will make sure your site is skipped next time the mass installation tool is run.

If this doesn’t solve the problem, please contact your hosting provider and ask them to stop overriding your preferences. LiteSpeed Cache will never install itself. If it repeatedly comes back, that is because of something your hosting provider has set up.

    I hope this helps!

    Hey @johnmatthew

I never ever had such issues. On one of my servers without LS Enterprise I uninstalled this plugin on one of my sites, to use my WP Rocket instead, and it never magically re-installed itself…

It’s the best WP caching plugin; even I still have 3y left of pre-paid nonrefundable ?? WP Rocket unlimited sites license, and was using the fro their launch date on all sites [they were much better than the other free options] I am now migrating all my websites to LS Cache plugin.

It’s def more complex than the Rocket when you want to fine-tune, and easy to over-optimize and get the wrong things cached like Elementor previews or admin bar so you need to fine-tune with care when you go aggressive max caching, but is the best IMHO.

AND a FREE WEBP generator and image optimizer that others charge lots for is also a boon!
Their free QUIC.CLOUD tier is very generous and albeit I paid $150 for supporting the dev and to have a big bunch of credits on hand I am yet to use a single one!

    Thanks for the feedback, @tekgirlymama.

That is indeed how our mass installation tool is supposed to work. It is supposed to respect your choice if you’ve installed another cache plugin. But we have recently seen a few instances where a hosting provider has overridden this behavior, and the only way to opt out in that case was the flag method I posted. I suspect this is what has been happening to @johnmatthew.
