Won't sync email update if wrong email is first given

Hi.
I have a user who entered wrong email address when signing up for my site. This was a non-existing email-adress, hence the user was not synced to the Mailchimp list. Fair enough. However, when the email was updates by that user, the sync is not working and giving the following error-message: “The email address “[email protected]” does not belong to this list”.Any idea how this can be resolved?
