I am using black studio tinymce to put youtube videos on my sidebar. On a couple of the pages it shows the title I typed in but just a blank space where the video should be. And on one page there isn’t even a space.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling several times. as well as searching this forum and trying things like [embed] etc. and nothing is working.

This is the third site I have built in the last few weeks and the others play the videos. It is just this last site that has a problem.

Any ideas? thank you in advance

Are you sure the issue doesn’t depend on specific videos (i.e. not allowed to be embedded)?
Please try to embed the same video in a post/page instead of a widget. And also try to use a different video in the widget.

Thanks for your reply Marco. I tried the same video on a blank test page – at first it didn’t work by using the youtube button and pasting in the link. Then I copied from the text in the embed section and pasted it straight into the text section of the page and it works.

I have also been using the “restrict widget” plug in so that I show a different video on each page. I just checked that all the settings were the same as on my other sites and they seem to be.

    Any ideas?

    thanks again

Could you provide a link to your site and/or the video you are trying to insert?

I just noticed something…if you are familiar with the “restrict widgets” widget. I need to use it so I can have a different video on each page. On the display/hide widget choice, if I set it to hide all the pages I don’t want the video on I get the title I typed in and a blank space where the video should be. If I set it to display just the page I want, then there is nothing on the page – not even a blank space.

Not sure if that means anything to you!

I made a few tests on my test site with Twenty Eleven theme and Restrict Widget plugin (with both display/hide settings) and everything works fine for me using this code inside the widget:
    [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEK8LS_0Gqk[/embed]

So it’s pretty strange. Could you try with a different browser?

Got it! Thanks Marco, I was using google chrome on this computer (my main desktop) for some reason internet explorer is very slow (on this computer) so I tried internet explorer on my laptop and started over with the youtube videos and it worked first time.

Thanks again for all your help.
