Won't pop up in WP cycle

I’m having trouble getting the lightbox to work when using WPcyle…yes I know it’s a very old slider tool, but I’m stuck with it for the time being. I’m having no problem getting the light box to work in any other normal situations, but since WPcyle will not alow me to use a short code or href html, there’s no way I can use your normal procedure.
I had a developer add this script in the homepage a while back and it worked until yesterday when I updated the plugin to 1.6.6.
Anything thoughts as to why this script doesn’t work, or have any other ideas how to make this pop up from a link in WPcycle.
