• I’ completely new to this, but I haven’t been able to publish my site to the net. I made the site somewhat presentable and when I hit the publish button, all I got was the 404 error. I talked to the hosting support and they at least got a picture to appear. This time I made the site look better, and it keeps showing the old stuff, if anything at all. I know this may be an easy fix, but, I haven’t done anything like this since Myspace in ’09.

    Also, I’d like to know how to get the white box and “Welcome” off the front page, all I want is the picture. Is there a way I can set up folders that require a password to open?

    Thanks in advance for your patience and help!

    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
    – If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, try Enabling debugging and post the results.

    There are no errors in my error log.

    I looked into debugging, lost again. I just post this into my code at the beginning?
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false );

    I was led to WordPress for it’s ease of use, and so far it’s been anything but. I’ve helped with several pages before, and all were FAR more user friendly.
