    Hi there,

I just installed and activated Smush. I′m pretty much stuck at the Setup Wizard popup. Nothing happens when I press “Finish setup wizard”.

    What do I do?

    Hi @imrinat93

Sorry to hear you are having this problem.

Could you verify if you have any console issue?

Kindly take a screenshot if you see any JS issue, upload on the google drive and share the link.

    Best Regards

I’m having the same problem. It shows “Failed to load resource: the server returned with a status of 400 ()”

I went on my work-computer and it worked. I think it has something to do with JS for sure, as I don’t have it in my MacBook.

    Hello @imrinat93 & @thavale,

@imrinat93: Glad to know that worked for you that it worked on your computer. Did you check by using other browsers on your mac to see if they cause the same issue?

@thavale: Could you please check the site memory limit and max execution time? Also, could you increase them to 512M for memory and 600 more max execution time and then check if it works? Here is how you can do it:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/increase-memory-limit/

Also, kindly consider opening a new thread next time for any issues you face as that way we do not disturb other members by replying in their threads which sends them an email every time we respond here which could disturb them.

Do let me know if that works for you.

    Thank you,

I just installed Smush. I am facing the exact same error. Console log shows:

Request failed. Returned status of 400 onboarding.js:215:22

I just tried running it on chrome browser. Still the same error:

Request failed. Returned status of 400
/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=smush_setup:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ()

There is no way to close the pop-up at all! It is quite frustrating to be faced something like this freshly after installing new plugin.

    Hi @ecommercedev

Sorry to hear you are having this problem.

The error 400 means bad request.

Could you please try to re-save the permalinks on WordPress > Settings > Permalinks and check if makes any difference?

Also, increase the memory limit as my friend suggested?
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/increase-memory-limit/

In case the issue persists, could you please create a new ticket and we can take a closer look at your problem?

    Best Regards

    @wpmudevsupport12
I did re-save permalinks. Now it started to work! I am not fluent in WP, do you mind explaining me why did this happen to me? And what did the solution did in fact to fix the problem?

I don’t ask for in-detail explanation, just high overview ??

    Thank you for your help!

    EDIT 1:
I tested it on another plugin where I was having similar prbolem and your suggestion fixed it. But it turned out it didn’t work for Smush in the end.

    EDIT 2:
I followed the other suggestion after permalink re-save did not work. Increasing the memory did it’s job.

    Thank you!

    Hi @ecommercedev

    Thank you for the update.

Some hosting provider has a low PHP memory by default, WordPress also has only 40M, it is a good idea to increase it depending on the number of plugins that we use.
