Won’t allow me to create a slideshow

When I go to insert a slideshow, it tells me: “It seems you haven’t created any slideshows yet. You can create a slideshow here!” But when I try to follow the link to create a slideshow it says that I can’t create a post as this user. But there is only one admin user so I’m not sure where it’s going wrong!
