    Hi Support,
Just a quick question on the lockdown that AIO WP Security does. It is really fantastic, straight out of the box by the way.

Just a small but strange thing happening. We are using the popular Easy Updates Manager plugin to keep WP up-to-date for the core and plugins. For some reason though, it doesn’t work and I have been through their troubleshooting (doing the force updates in the advanced tab with no joy in their plugin).

Could there be something the great AIO WP Security might be doing to block them from happening please?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Paul

Hi Paul, could you please provide more information regarding the issue you are experiencing. For example what is not currently working in your site between both plugins?

Did you disabled all other plugins except this one and the plugin in question and then carried out a test? If you did, what was the error message you received if any?

Can you also try the following. Enable Debug located under WP Security -> Settings -> General Settings and check the log files. If they are empty carry out another test, then check the log files again.

Let me know how you go.

    Kind regards

    Hi mbrsolution,
Much appreciated for the quick reply. I have tried to rule out all the obvious ones as well including disabling caching and wondered if you are able to reproduce this strange one.

Actually, I have a simpler way to demonstrate the challenge but don’t seem to be able to paste a screenshot so will talk through the steps.

If you install the plugin called “WP Crontrol” it allows viewing of the background WordPress cronjobs.

You can them see them in a list with these fields (there are quite a few, but I am picking out the plugin update cronjob I am trying to force):

    Hook name: wp_update_plugins
    Arguments: none
    Action: wp_update_plugins()
    Recurrence: Edit / Run Now

The cronjob list appears here >>> https://www.sitename.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=crontrol_admin_manage_page

If alongside the “wp_update_plugins” you click “Run Now” it doesn’t do anything and doesn’t update the plugins.

    Best Regards,
    Paul

Hi Paul, thank you for sharing more information. You will have to carry out some trial an error checks.

Start by disabling all Firewall rules in AIOWPS. Then carry out a test. Let me know what happens.

If the above does nothing what other settings do you have enabled in AIOWPS?

I’m one of the contributors to Easy Updates Manager, and will be following this thread in case there’s an issue on our end. Thanks!
