    Hi Barry,

what is the logic behind the wizard? I just rerun the wizard and found out that for at least for me “Related Posts for WordPress” is about to find two very good matches and then 2 other ones that are mostly out of scope from my point of view. One of the out of scope posts is always be part of the matches that the wizard adds.

This is the URL to my blog for review: https://www.sensorgrafie.de/blog/

Maybe “Related Posts for WordPress” likes Ameland? Because that is a video post that is nearly always added :D, but the Ameland article is quite old.

The latest posts about the upcoming photokina for example should only have photokina related articles as there are many of these articles on my blog and they are even more recent in age than the Ameland article.

So I just want to know about the wizards logic to find out how to increase the percentage of good related posts, so that manual intervention could be minimized.

    Cheers
    Yogie

    Hey Yogie,

Related posts are determined on multiple factors including title, content, tags and categories.

I’m not sure why the Ameland post scores so high but I suspect it has something to do with the low amount of words in the post’s content. It’s harder to debug for me because it’s in German ??

I’ll get back to you on this.

    Cheers

Yes that sounds plausible to me. I mean the low amount of words. So I guess if we would have something like being able to set the weight of each factor (or an additional factor like the age of a post) would possibly bring better results?

    Hey Yogie,

I’ve written a small article about changing the weights that Related Posts for WordPress uses to determine what posts are related. This answers your questions for a big part.
The article can be found here.

Additional factors might be added in the future, I’m not sure of this yet ??
