• Hi,

I am choosing between Wix and WordPress for a website that I want to build, and would like to know if I need to know any coding if I want to use WordPress? I have read that HTML and CSS are required to be able to get anything done, is this true? I don’t have months and months to learn.

My website will be content and article led, and I want to replicate the format of www.moneysavingexpert.com

Is there a theme that I can buy that already has such subsub page features? I have asked on Wix and they do not currently provide subsubpages, though they have offered a workaround.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

  • Hi, I came across your question as I have a similar one … I see that nobody has given you any feedbac …
It appears to me that the only way to get any answers is via the forum and this is a concern.
With Wix a ticket can be lodged and an answer given within 24 hours
    Any feedback please anyone???

Sorry about that. WordPress is free software, developed and supported entirely by volunteers. Sometimes we just can’t get to everyone, as opposed to Wix, which is indeed a paid service with salaried employees.

To answer the question posed above, it would be advantageous if you knew a little bit of HTML and CSS, as it will help you further customize your content and theme, but it’s really not a requirement for using WordPress at all.

If your goal is to replicate the look and format of a specific site though, then you’re either going to want to learn some so you can make that happen as you desire, or you’re going to want to hire someone to replicate the site for you.

As with anything, there’s a big difference between “I want to start my own site and have a good time with it,” and “I want to build this exact specific thing with no exceptions.”
