With the new 3.54 update, when editing the gallery you cannot access the option: “sort or exclude images”.

The following error also occurred: An error of type E_ERROR has occurred on line 1338 of the file /mnt/web114/d1/70/53670970/htdocs/WordPress_02/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/ modules/legacy_compat/package.module.legacy_compat.php. Error message: Cannot declare class C_Displayed_Gallery_Source_Manager, because the name is already in use.

    Thank you.

    Hi @estherramos,

This looks like a PHP OPCache related problem, so let’s delete NextGen Gallery then clear OPCache (or ask the hosting support to do that for you) then install the latest version of NextGen Gallery.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you very much for the reply.
I have spoken with my hosting and they do not provide that service, nor do they have support to tell me how to delete the OPCache.
I have returned to the previous version of NextGen, which gave me no problems.

    Hi @estherramos,

We’ve seen cases when simply deactivating then deleting NextGen Gallery and installing the latest version new has helped without clearing OPcache.

Thank you very much for your answer.
I will wait for the next update, see if they have solved the problem and I will try it again.
At the moment with 3.41 it is working well for me, so I am going to continue with it.
    Have a nice week.

    Hi @estherramos,

This error is a false issue detection caused by OPcache if updating from NG 3.41 to a newer version because the issue is non-existent.

NextGen Gallery 3.5x contains core code changes, so we recommend deleting existing NextGen Gallery plugin then install it new in case of it crashing while regularly updating from 3.41 or older versions.

I removed the plugin and reinstalled it, but when I edit it on a page it doesn’t allow me the option: “SORT OR EXCLUDE IMAGES”. The images do not appear for me to select the ones I want to see.
However, the other options: “Choose display” and “Customize display settings” do allow me to modify them.
    Thank you.

    Hi @estherramos,

Could you please let us know what gallery source do you use?

The “Sort or exclude image” is not supposed to display any images if using “Random Images”, “Recent Images”, “Tags” or in case that the gallery or album wasn’t selected.

    Good morning, @mihaiimagely.
I use the entire gallery uploaded to NextGen and in Select View: caption-view.php.
Is this what you ask me?
But with version 3.41 it doesn’t give me any problems.
    Thank you so much.

Hello. Same problem here. As a source is selected a gallery, but the “Sort or exclude image” just show “No entities to display for this source”. It worked properly in past.

    WP version 6.4.2
    NextGEN Gallery version 3.57

    Hi @estherramos, @myshquo,

I am sorry for the delayed reaction to this on behalf of our team.

I confirm that we have now documented a bug with “Sort or exclude images” not displaying, caused by the URI being too long due to the parameters’ amount that are directly encoded into the URL.

We’ve observed that having a long lists of image exclusions can trigger the problem, but I’m not excluding it happening in different circumstances as well.

Our development team is now aware of the problem, and they’ll work on fixing it.
