Wishlist Member and a Better Search plugin

  • Hello All,

    I’m trying to improve the wordpress search to include custom fields. Unfortunatly I have had some issue with the following plugins:

    Search Reloaded – Has a clash that is referred to in the conflict.txt file in the Wishlist Member plugin.

    Search Unleashed – Is having an issue when I try to reindex the site, and is causing pages to show up incorrectly. (this could be related to another issue, so be interested if anyone has had success with this)

    Search Everything – does not search password protected content.

    I’m still looking at other options for now, and will update this as I test.

    If anyone even has a link that explains how to create a custom search box so I can look at a specific category and also search custom fields within that category would appreciate it.

  • Searching a category is done by simply including the category path before the ?s= query. Here’s the code I wrote. It appears, however, only when the user is already in a category path. Allowing the user to choose a category to search would be quite different.
