Wish I read the reviews first

  • Only installed this as the “WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway” was pushing it on the plugins page saying it’s an upgrade.
    Wish I’d read the reviews first. It just wouldn’t complete the connect process as others have said.
    Did finally manage to get it working with manual connection settings. Run through some test orders, for some reason the PayPal button disappears when I change the postage amount (that could be plugin, theme or some other conflict). Doesn’t seem to do too much more than what we’ve already got, so decided to remove it and stick with what we’ve got that’s well tested.
    Giving 2 stars because it did finally work, it’d get 3 but it’s annoying me more being pushed in the plugins screen with no option to dismiss it.

    Thanks for the feedback.
    The upgrade notification comes from the previous PayPal Checkout plugin though and once it has been dismissed it should remain hidden until the plugin gets re-enabled.
    PayPal Payments provides mostly the same features as the Checkout plugin, but there are new PayPal features that are only available with the new integration.

    For example, the vaulting feature allows your customers to save their payments methods for easier repeat checkouts. Pay Later & alternative payments methods such as Venmo provide wider coverage of payment methods and the PayPal Card Processing provides advanced credit and debit card functionality.
    When you connect your PayPal account from a supported region, PayPal will automatically prompt the opt-in for the advanced credit and debit card payments: https://www.paypal.com/bizsignup/#/checkAccount
    This is a one-time process but it’s optional if you do not want to provide advanced credit card payments.
    We are revamping the plugin settings to make it more clear what the “sign up” process is for.
