Winner Email {{ENTRY_LINK}}

    Hi Igor,

    I can’t seem to get {{ENTRY_LINK}} to work in the winner email.
    It works fine in the enrollment email and generates a link.

    But in the winner email, no link is generated.

    Second question, what is the purpose of activating an account? If I set the giveaway to require activation with {{ACTIVATE_LINK}}, what is the benefit of doing that other than double opt in?

    Hi @almandareo,

    the winner email does not use the {{ENTRY_LINK}} placeholder. I can put it there if you would need it. I did not see a reason for that being there since it’s an email containing instructions on how to receive the prize.

    The {{ACTIVATE_LINK}} must be used with the option Activation turned on in the settings. When that is active, the user won’t be able to win until he/she clicks on the link to activate.

    Hi Igor,

    No, you do not have to include the entry link placeholder.

    I was just testing some of the new features, and I tried to combine the password protected option with including a password in the winner email.

    Winner would click entry link to take them back to giveaway to enter password and reveal game key.

    I get that part about the Activate Link, but does it do anything else, like subscribe to my website? I was wondering if it was like a follow this blog link.

    Or if it is like a double-opt in, which can be used to reduce spam?

    Hi @almandareo,

    yes, the activation is only to reduce any chance of a bot winning that has entered the giveaway.
