    Dear all,

all was working fine so far, until we now checked the site on a Windows PC and the pages show up in Greek symbols (instead of Spanish / Latin laguage writing). I use a plugin for fonts, with the main font “Symbol” ( a sans serif font), might this be the cause?

I checked the config.php and the datatbase, but all is set to latin language there.

    Anyone any idea?

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

  • Checked the site on a Windows machine, looking all good. The font used is Verdana though, I don’t see a reference to “Symbol” right away.

Thanks a lot! I was dabbling around a bit and changed the front page to Verdana, which eventually works. The other pages are still in Symbol, and obviously don′t work in Windows. Any idea how to change the coding so that I can keep Symbol (which fits better to the font of the headlines from the the theme)?

    Thanks again!!!

Actually, Windows is showing the correct font. If you look here, you’ll see that Symbol is specifically for Greek style text.

On a Mac, Symbol is not installed by default so it will show the fallback font, which is Verdana. That’s what you’re actually seeing.

Hence, get rid of Symbol, set the font as Verdana, and it will look good on both Mac and PC — and everywhere else.
