Windows Live Writer posting to blog (hopefully an easy fix!)

Hi! I’d really appreciate it if someone could please assist me, I have very little technical knowledge. I have a WordPress blog I update with Windows Live Writer. For some reason, when I try to post what I write in Live Writer to my blog, what gets posted includes the extra formatting/source characters. I originally thought maybe the issue was with WordPress – but I’ve updated it, and that didn’t fix the problem. Does anyone have any ideas? I bet this is an easy fix and I’ll feel dumb once it’s explained to me, but I really appreciate any insight you may have. Thanks!
