• Hi Josh,

I love your plugin and have done a pretty cool custom slider with it, but have one issue. I have managed to float the image container to the left and link buttons floated to the right. They do scale nicely. The problem is this:
If you open the page in a skinnier browser size (i.e. 800px), then maximize the browser window to full width (i.e. 1,600px) , the first image shows the correct larger size, and then the next image reverts to the original size when the page was first opened. In other words, the browser remembers the original image container size. You have to refresh the browser in order to get the image to the correct container size. If not, then there is a big space between the image and the buttons with the wrong image size. I hope it’s fixable. Client is pretty concerned about it.

I have the image container floated left at 70% and buttons floated right at 30%. They should stay together always as screen resizes.

Here is the link for the page. It’s worse on IE.

Thank you for your continued support.

Hi, the slideshow is really built to be the same size as the slide images. You will get the best results if they are all identical in size, allowing the slide images to scale naturally.

I would recommend setting the slideshow dimensions, and the slide images to the actual max size that you want, leaving it at 100%, and moving the pager title buttons and excerpts outside of the slideshow either in their own container, or absolutely positioned. Either way, if they are not a part of the slideshow and you allow the slideshow to scale naturally instead of constraining it to 70%, it should work a lot better in all browsers and sizes.

    Hi Josh,

Thanks for the quick response. Okay, so the images are all set to the same size when I uploaded them (1438px) in width so they are all consistent and look good on larger screens.

I tried putting buttons outside the .mslide container and it broke the slideshow. I am not sure the buttons are causing an issue. They work perfect and are integrated into the slideshow transition with custom fields.

So I tried this: setting image containers and img to 100% so it will just fill in the full width naturally like you suggested. I set the browser window in skinnier width and refresh. Then maxed the window. Still have the same problem of the first image looking correct, and then afterward being stuck or cached in the small size from first page load. It only fills the width that it should when the browser is refreshed. It scales down beautifully, but not up properly. I thought perhaps it was a browser timing thing or jquery bug. I hope I am explaining this okay. I would show you a screen shot example, but don’t see how to add an attachment.

Sorry for my delayed response, did you have any success getting the slideshow to scale properly?

I would have to make a demo to show you exactly what I mean, but the slideshows are built to be the same size as the slide images, so you have to start with the default styling, and move the buttons outside the slideshow. It won’t work if the slideshow is still sized to be different than the slide images.
