    Hi

Am about to contact Nielson book services to discuss buying some book data from them to import into my site. The data will involve frequent imports/updates of over a million titles. I don’t see any reason why Woo won’t be able to cope with this but need to check. Can anyone advise?

Also will the standard free Woo product uploader do the job or will I have to upgrade to professional. There will be no variations.

    Thanks in advance.

We’ve seen one project that successfully imported just over 500k records, but that involved a tremendous amount of professional server and database optimization and caching. In general, we seldom see projects with more than 100k records that manage to finish their imports, and when we do, it is even rarer to see it result in a functional site due to WordPress’ database schema.

We recommend that you either reduce your import to between 50-100k records or perhaps look in to an alternate platform. WordPress doesn’t easily handle databases much larger than that.
