• Thinking about buying a Gear 360 and was wondering if this plugin will support images that it creates. Anybody else have any experience with this?

  • Hi,
I have the same question. I already have the Gear 360 and I bought the S8+ to go with it.
I have installed the VR-View plug in which is working on the Web alright but not on the smartphone in my experience.
There is this info about Chrome and VR but I could not make it work:
    https://is.gd/IybBvQ

a WebVR setting which enables enhanced VR device compatibility with VR websites built against WebVR standards. Chrome Dev (one extra step back in development from Beta) now contains a ‘VR Shell’ setting which Google’s Chromium Evangelist Fran?ois Beaufort says “enable[s] a browser shell for VR” which “allows users to browse the web while using Cardboard or Daydream-ready viewers.” Both options are available in the browser’s Flags page, accessed by entering chrome://flags in the URL bar.

When viewing one of Sam Rohn’s page on a smartphone https://bit.ly/2j3ejnX the google VR viewer becomes visible on a link but this leads to a full screen touch and spin 360° pix but not the stereo version needed in a cardboard viewer.

panopress is NOT a viewer itself but is a method for embedding viewers like krpano, and stereo VR etc would be a function of the viewer, not panopress
