I have been using the Free version of Virtue and think I may want to purchase the Premium version so I can put some featured shop listings on my homepage. I have made alot of changes to the theme so I wanted to know if I can safely upgrade without losing my changes.

Sure thing! Just follow the “Free to Premium” instructions in this tutorial- https://www.kadencethemes.com/installing-virtue-premium/

I just checked out that page and I was on there before. That’s why I was concerned. I saw something about 1/2 way down the page under “Upgrading – Free to Premium”. It gives a warning that importing theme options will overwrite all existing values… “proceed with caution”.
Will take a look at that for me? https://www.kadencethemes.com/installing-virtue-premium/

EDIT: I just read underneath that that you can copy your current options in case anything goes wrong. If something goes wrong and I put back the “free” options, wont that negate the reason for getting the premium version?

As you can tell, I’m not a pro. I imagine I shouldn’t worry about it but I’ve screwed up things before and I’m afraid of myself. Haha.

    Hey,
Installing premium will give you the premium options, even if you have imported the free options sections you’ve made it won’t remove the new options. For example, lets say you’ve set your home page to have the latest posts module enabled. By importing the theme options, it only sets whats is enabled and what isn’t. It doesn’t remove the new options that you can enable.

Your defiantly fine to move forward. Regardless, when you install premium activate and import your settings it doesn’t touch the free theme settings so you can always click back and look at what you did before.
