    Hi

Should Optimole resize an image if it has explicit “height” and “width” set within an <img> element?

Situation I have is that containing <div> forces dimensions and then <img> has explicit dimensions of full size image and those are ignored by browser. This is done by the theme and I have no control over it. The problem is that image is not resized and small thumbnail is actually a full-size imaged scaled down by browser. PageSpeed complains that images are not served in proper size.

    Hi @rudolfl,

Thank you for using Optimole. Yes, it resizes the images based on the?width?and?height?attribute of the?img?tag.

Based on the described scenario, the correct image size depends on the amount of space available in the <div> tag, in which case enabling the Smart Cropping feature should help.

    Best regards,

    Thanks,

No, I do not want it cropped. I want it re-sized. Sounds like I need to talk to theme support to see if this can be fixed
