• I have a domain/active website (created in iWeb) with an ISP which I plan to transfer to another ISP. I started the new hosting account with the other ISP and am working on a temporary WordPress site with a uniquely named directory (since the old domain has not been transferred yet). I plan to transfer the old domain to that new ISP, when the temporary WP site is finished, eliminating any down time. We will be discontinuing the use of iWeb in favor of WP.

    My question is this:
Once I transfer the active domain to the new ISP, will WordPress automatically update the temporary site/directory to the domain that will be transferred to the new ISP? Every page I create now has a unique name that will have to be updated to the transferred domain name:

As an example, the name of a temporary page is:
    https://44.444.444.44/~sam6/tee-shirts

When I transfer the domain, it should be: https://www.sams.com/tee-shirts

Will that update happen automatically? Or are there steps I can take to make sure every page updates and there is no confusion in the directories.

    Thanks in advance for responses.

  • From temp url you posted looks like you will setting up in root once you ready all you will need to do change the urls in Settings>>>General from temp urls to your domain name urls
