Hi, ive just installed your plugin looks great and easy to set-up.

I have yoast seo set up – which i assume creates a sitemap. Will this plugin conflict with that?

Also i noticed google news – do i have to set up anything on google ? Or just enable this on your side?

My blog is informational, do i get penalised if i enable google news and google may see a certain post may not be news, it may be knowledge based?

    kindly let me know

    Hello @shahican

    1. This plugin doesn’t conflict with other SEO or Sitemap plugins, actually with Yoast SEO also. You can use both of Sitemaps or disable Yoast SEO Sitemap under Settings. Other features of this plugin will work as before.
    2. You need to publish your Google News Sitemap URL on Google Publisher – https://support.google.com/news/publisher-center/answer/9607025.
    3. With Pro version, you can publish Custom created Post Type. On the other hand, all your posts can be published as Google News, even your posts are not only News.

Thank you for getting back. That’s really appreciated.

I noticed it creates a google news feed which I assume is the same as RSS?

Is this the url i pass to google publisher center in the section to add url? I did this but google showing no “There are no articles in this section” – although i can see in your plugin google-news-site-map all the posts are visible.

How do i know that with your plugin that scraping bots cannot easily take content. For example with Yoast SEO there is a RSS section which will rank my page even if scraped.

    Kindly let me know

Yes, Google News Sitemap is a similar RSS for Google Publisher Center. This Sitemap was created following Google News Sitemap structure and only Google Publisher Center can scrap its content.

Here is a guid to Show up in Google News – https://support.google.com/news/publisher-center/answer/9607025.

    Hi, thanks for getting back.

    1. I have opened my Google publisher center again and still its not picked anything up. WIll it only pick up if any new content was added after setting up? At the moment Google news is showing my account as draft and preview section says “You haven’t added any content to this section yet.”

I tried to add this by section on google news. First i clicked the feed option : RSS or Atom feed URL (required) – and entered the news feed url into that. When i saw that was not working, theres another option which says ‘web location’ – but still its finding no content.

    2. And last thing, I am thinking of installing your plugin on a site that i have had for many years. I am worried that if your plugin creates a new sitemap – will this affect my current SEO ranking? I have been using yoast for the sitemap. If your plugin creates another, will this affect my ranking?

Would be so grateful if i can have some clear answers on these.

    1. Could you please test your News Sitemap through Publication Center
https://publishercenter.google.com/google-news/edit/publish? Please got to your Publication Center > Settings > Review and Publish. Here you can see all issues with Publishing Google News. Please let me know which kind of issues appearing here.
Also, Publication URL should be verified through Google Search Console.
    2. This plugin creates a new sitemap according to its settings. If the URL of the new Sitemap is the same as your current Sitemap, you can change the URL of the Sitemap in Settings to keep the current Sitemap.
This will not affect your SEO ranking until the new sitemap URL is registered with Search Engine Tools such as Google Search Console.
At any case, I can recommend you to test this plugin with local/staging copy of your website before using on Live site.

Hi, thanks so much for getting back.

    1. Publish is greyed out. The reason is:
it says there is : 2 empty sections

i tried to add this two way. One by pasting the google news feed.xml into the feed url of publisher center. and also adding manually by url. But both sections show empty.
on feed method, it says: There are no articles in this section.
however when i check the feed url – all the posts are shown. I also try and refresh this and it says: Your section will be refreshed offline
    2. So if i find that your plugin has generated a sitemap with a different url than the one that Yoast had set- then I just replace your one with the sitemap that yoast had initially set? (as i think it has a different url) – and then save settings I assume?

Hi, any update or help on this ?

    Hello @shahican

    1. Could you please contact with Google Support on this issue? I didn’t face this kind of issue before.
    2. Not at all ?? I was talking about testing our plugin, before replacing your current Sitemap.
      For Testing:
Just enable our Sitemap and check on Frontend.
PS: I’ve checked Yoast Sitemap, so it’s already appearing in different URL, so there shouldn’t be any conflict.
For Releasing to Live (if everything is okay with tests):
You can enable our plugin XML Sitemap and put its URL into Google Search Console for indexing. If you don’t want to have 2 Sitemaps, you can just disable Yoast SEO Sitemap under its Settings.

Please let me know if there any problems else.
