• I am wanting to change themes to a news type theme instead of what I have. I have the Newsletter theme that I can activate but I really want it to look as close to the demo is possible and I have no idea what I’m doing.

My site is established and I have over 200 posts. Will installing a new themes demo mess everything up? SEO? Send out email updates to anyone subscribed?

  • I would advise against it especially on a production site. Not that anything would happen, but the things that could happen would create a lot of issues.

Most hosting providers nowadays have the ability to create a “staging” site for their customers so you may want to contact your hosting provider’s support team to see if that is an option. That way, it can copy over the content of your current site for you where you can then safely change themes as well as other settings without affecting the live site.
