    Hi,

    There is a theme developer system for JOomla called Balboa Gridbox, if a site has been built using this will your import plugin work?

    Many thanks

    The migration plugin is independent of any theme. It will move the Joomla content to WordPress without changing it (except the media paths and internal links that will reflect the new site).
    However, if your theme uses a page builder with custom code in the backend, it won’t work on WordPress.

    Hi

    Thanks for the quick response. Although I am not sure what you mean?

    Do you mean if there is a page builder on Joomla I cannot export to WordPress?

    And that is the reason the import to WordPress is not working?

    You can export it to WordPress. But the format used by your page builder on Joomla (specific to this page builder) probably won’t work on WordPress.

    Ok thanks, It seems that is the case as I cannot export to WordPress.

    Every time I try nothing is imported.

    Many thanks, I will just have to complete manually. ??

    It should import something.
    Which error message did you get in the log?

    Hi

    I see what has happened there is several users on the Joomla installation and so nothing is imported unless i use the Premium import plugin.

    The free version can import all your articles, even if you have several users on Joomla.
    FYI, in addition to the free version, the Premium version will import the users and will assign the articles to their authors.

    Hi

    Well this is the issue I am getting

    [WARNING] Your Joomla database contains several users. You need the Premium version to import them.
    Importing categories…
    0 categories imported
    Importing posts…
    0 pages imported
    0 medias imported
    Don’t forget to modify internal links.
    IMPORT COMPLETED
    === END import 2020-02-03 10:29:28 ===

    So not sure what is going on.

    The warning concerns the users only, not the articles.

    How many articles did the plugin find in the Joomla database?

    Thread Starter wood1e

    (@wood1e)

    oh ok

    It found nothing, as I said it is importing nothing,

    [WARNING] Your Joomla database contains several users. You need the Premium version to import them.
    === END test_database 2020-02-03 10:29:16 ===

    === START import 2020-02-03 10:29:28 ===
    Connected with success to the Joomla database
    Joomla data found:
    1 category
    0 articles

    Let me know if you need more information

    That means that there are no active articles at all in your database (in the xx_content table).
    Some hints:
    – did you enter the right database prefix in the settings?
    – are there some “archived” articles?
    – are there articles managed by a third-party Joomla plug-in?

    If you write us at https://www.fredericgilles.net/support/ and provide a link to download your Joomla database, we could see what’s wrong with it.

    Hi
    Yes the articles are managed through the Gridbox/Balboa page management system I mentioned previously.

    OK, I understand. Unfortunately, this system is not supported by our plugins. So its content won’t be imported automatically.

    ok no problem, shame, but no problem
