• I just installed your plugin and tried it on one recipe. I like it a lot and want to edit all of my prior recipe posts to use it. But before I do that I want to know that if I ever decide to stop using the plugin, I won’t lose my recipes.

How would I access my recipes if I did stop using the plugin in the future?
Would I be able to import the recipes into a new plugin?

Also, I just want to confirm that my recipes aren’t automatically added the KitchenBug site. It’s one of the reasons I chose your plugin over the others!

    Hi Karen,

Thank you for contacting us regarding these issues.

All your Kitchenbug recipes are saved in a specific table in your WordPress database. You can export these recipes using the “Backup Recipes” button on the Kitchenbug Settings menu. The recipes are exported in a recipe-type XML file. Importing them into a different plugin will probably be a bit tricky since they usually don’t support an import-type system.

Regarding the recipes themselves, we do not save them on our server, we only save the analysis since we update the nutrition algorithms from time to time. We do this in order to make sure that when a viewer clicks on the ‘Dig In’ button on a recipe published via the plugin he will always see the latest nutritional information.

The recipes do not appear on our website by default. However, Kitchenbug does allow anyone to collect recipes from any website using the Kitchenbug bookmarklet. So if someone likes your recipe they can add it to their recipe box.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Kind Regards,

    Gilad

Thanks for the follow up. This makes me feel more comfortable moving all of my recipes into your plugin.
