• Want your opinion.

I have created a new post titled “XYZ Is Crap Load Of Crap”. Google indexes this post and shows up in search results appropriately.

Recently I was reading on SEO and figured I could increase the traffic to my website by changing the title of this post to “Crap – Stay Away from XYZ”.

Will Google re-index this updated title? I have updated the title on some of my posts but they do show up updated in the search results.

    Need insight on this.

    Thanks.

  • Yes Google will come back and re-index the page.

The more quality content you publish on your site and the more often you add new content, then the more likely Google will re-crawl your pages more often.

Just cos you change the title, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll increase your traffic. Google will re-index your title, and your page, but where it lists your page will depend on the page content more than the page title.

Google doesn’t want to send people looking for “Apples”, to pages named “Apples”, but with page content about “Pears”.

It would rather send people looking for “Apples” to pages with content about “Apples”, even if the page itself is called “Pears”.

Hope you followed that! What I’m trying to point out. Page content is the thing that really matters, not the page title.

Ideally, both would match, but if they don’t, it’s the page content that carries most weight.

Yes, Why not google index blog title.
