Will child theme block the Customize tool?

  • We’re having big problems trying go in and change the two buttons in the Hero section of our OnePress splash page. We were able to do that a year ago, but now we cannot access them in Customize.

    We set up a child theme in the past six months for the usual reasons; preventing custom work from being over-written by regular updates.

    Could the child theme be why we can no longer edit the Hero buttons? The only other explanation is that a FameThemes update has locked us out.

  • If you updated to WP 5.5, this could be your problem. I was not able to access anything in customiser except Widgets after doing the update. Use wpdowngrade plugin to go back to previous version, that worked well for me. Then wait for them to fix this problem.
