• This plugin is very helpful. By using the short code in my event-single.php template, I was able to list the related events table directly under the Date/Time section of the page on both the first date and all the related dates. Very pretty.

The problem is that in the Event Description section for the subsequent (child) events, the wildcards that are added by default only get replaced correctly if I am NOT using my own event-single.php template. How can I make the wildcards get replaced on my custom template?

For example, instead of “This is Day 2 of Test event, which starts on May 10, 2022,” I see “This is %SUB_LABEL% %SUB_COUNT% of %MAIN_NAME%, which starts on %MAIN_DATE%.”

    Thanks!

As a work-around, I used the plugin’s settings to eliminate the variables provided by the plugin and used PHP to determine whether it was the first day or a subsequent day being shown, and added “Day 1,” “Day 2,” etc. to the event’s output to match the day that was being displayed.

Good enough for now. It would be nice to be able to use the plugin’s variables within a custom single-event.php page though.
