Wildcard dns for WPMU Subdomains on Openlitespeed and DirectAdmin

  • I am using the openlitespeed server along with the DirectAdmin Panel to host my wordpress multisite and I want to configure wildcard dns for the creation of subsite with subdomains.

    I found other resources which did not work for me and I believe that the reason is because they were for apache and DirectAdmin. DirectAdmin does not allow direct editing of the openlitespeed custom httpd config files like the way it does with apache.

    Somebody please help me with the precise steps for configuring wordpress multisite wildcard dns on directadmin and openlitespeed.

  • It always helps when asking for technical support to state exactly what steps you’ve taken, and the exact result you got, including any error messages.

    This helps the person providing support to know where the problem might be and the best way to help — or, at the very least, avoid asking you to try the very same thing you may have tried already which didn’t work.

    In that regard, “I found other resources which did not work for me” is not really useful, as it does not mention exactly what you’ve tried, nor it doesn’t say anything about what happened.
