Wigdet only with excerpt, author, date?

  • Since 3.0.0, I guess, the widget changed always to all informations as excerpt, author and date, when I install the widget. Elder widgets on other websites don’t show these informations.
    How can I exclude these and show only count? (I do only mark count!)

    Thanks. That’s fine. It’s mainly if you have access to the server. I’ll do some additional changes and create a package that you could use to download from GitHub and just upload to your Plugins > Add New page

    @ajay Yes, that’s how I’ve been testing. I don’t get a message that says the widget saved when I make those changes. I also changed my theme to GeneratePress to rule out a theme issue, and it still doesn’t want to save those changes.

    @kavaxtreme Are you seeing any errors in your browser console?

    I’m rewriting the widget based on the core widgets so hoping that makes a difference.

    Yes, I get this when I try to save:

    Is this your test install by any chance? Can you disable or remove other widgets besides Top 10?

    I’m not sure if this error is coming from Top 10.

    Would you be in a position to try this version? You can download top-10.zip from there and upload it in Plugins > Add New to replace the old version.

    I have also fixed the wp-editor issue you mentioned above. Took a tonne of Googling but looks like it’s hit a lot of other plugins as well.

    I guess you got it. The new version works well with Appearance as well with Customizer Widget.

    Thanks for confirming. I have still quite a few changes to do for 3.1.0 which is a few weeks away but at least users can get it from Github for now.
