    Hi,
I am new to website creation and I am currently creating a website for my son who is going to open his business in France. This website is currently hosted locally by WampServer and I use WordPress, Elementor and the AERA theme to design it. I have a side widget area that I would like to reduce in order to leave more space for the body of the site. I don’t know how to do it. I suppose that a CSS could help me but as I explained to you, I am a novice. Could you help me? I will add screenshot to help understand. I would also like the widget side area (where the buttons are) to be able to drop down as the person scrolls. Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
As mentioned, my site is not yet hosted, it works locally with WampServer while it is being created.
The problem is on all pages (except the home page because the widget area is not available).

    Hi,

It is hard to tell by the screenshot. Have you tried to lower the column width, where the widgets are located? so it will be more narrow?

    Hi
This is exactly what I would like to do but I don’t know how to proceed because I don’t see anything in the WordPress / Elementor menu that goes in this direction.
Don’t hesitate, if you need more screenshots to ask me. I understand that it is difficult to judge like this.

    Hi,

I am not sure what is the exact structure.

Let’s say it is a section with two columns as in my screenshot: https://snipboard.io/5Sdr7R.jpg

Click on the icon near the column, and play with the column width: https://snipboard.io/Mv0ELO.jpg

Let us know if that helps

    Good evening,

Here is a screenshot of Elementor. I have only one column.

    Hello,

I use the AERA theme from Nayra.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I understand that you are customizing this section through your theme, Aera, which is a third-party theme.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide support or control of third-party themes.
Please try contacting the author of your theme, for extra guidance.

Hello, I have already contacted the third party theme which tells me that since I work with Elemntor, it is indeed a problem with Elementor…
I really need help and if everyone is passing the buck, I can’t do it.
    Thanks

    Hi,

Since your website is not live yet it is hard to understand from the screenshots what is going on.

You need to check with the theme if there is any setting that prevents you from resizing the column.

As you added the widgets hrough the theme and not the editor, you need to change the width in the theme itself and note Elementor.
If you have the option to add the widgets through Elementor column and then move and resize it, that would be best.

If you are looking for a code to add, I suggest going to our Elementor GitHub, as you can ask for code from our developers and other users.

We dont mean to make you feel like that, it is just the fast that we are limited with assisting when its involving a different theme.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your answer.
I have asked the theme editor and he says that it is possible but they will only tell me if I subscribe to their theme for a fee!
I use the theme for free and I don’t plan to buy a theme because I would have no use for it.
By Elementor, I don’t see how to add widgets and how to move them to the sidebar of my theme.
I will check out Elementor GitHub, thank you.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

I went to the site you mentioned. I found a person full of unconstructive criticisms and who allows himself to denigrate me under the pretext that I am not a webdesigner…
